If you ask anyone in town who Dennis Salverson is, you’ll most likely get a blank stare and a shoulder shrug.  But if you ask if they know Salvo, you immediately get a big smile of recognition!

Salvo (Dennis) has owned, managed and cooked at Coyote Grill for more years than even Salvo wants to remember.  Wave after wave of UW-W students have made the Coyote a must stop on the Thursday night loop.  Alumni always stop when they’re in town and we locals know that Salvo serves up the best burgers and chicken sandwiches around.  In fact, the Coyote Ultimate Burger was voted the #1 Hamburger in Walworth County!

Located on Center Street in Downtown Whitewater, the atmosphere is a mix of good old fashion up north tavern and southwest saloon.  Originally from Madison, Salvo came to Whitewater to go to college and loved the small town so much, he bought the bar.  Over the years, Salvo has been very involved with the Tavern League, working hard to create a safe, prosperous environment for owners and patrons alike.

Behind the bar is the grill and often, especially at lunch time, you’ll find Salvo with a spatula in hand, cooking.  The folks who work at the Coyote rave about their boss, and some who tended bar as students, still drive in from places like the Milwaukee area, to continue to work for Salvo part time.

Besides terrific food, the full bar features craft beer and wine, along with all the fav drinks of the day.  Stop by soon and lift a glass to a great Whitewater tradition... The Coyote Grill!
