Welcome to The Whitewater Press! Back in the day (the 1990’s), Wild Wings Way LLC published an all Rock County magazine called, ontheRock. The goal of the publication was to tell only good news, share the stories of the people and the small businesses of the area and to be the first publication to cover and deliver to all towns in the county. It was created by a handful of freelance folk, designed and published out of our farm house in Johnstown. Our company jumped into the wacky world of the web in 2007, expanding the same goals of the magazine, launching the DiscoverontheRock eNeighborhood, ambitiously setting a goal to bring the communities of the Heart of the Rock River Basin together for the first time. This continues to be an exciting work in progress.
Even though the newspaper and print industry is rapidly declining under the pressure of the digital age, we’ve always believed that even though technology is cool and fun, people naturally love to touch stuff, have things laying around the house, and collect things. The problem with print is that it often focuses on bad news and it relies on dollars from advertisers, but rarely tells their stories.
We are honored and thrilled to bring our print theory to Whitewater! The pages of the editions of The Whitewater Press will share stories about local businesses we believe you’ll visit, now that you know about the people who own them. We’re also honored to host on-going columns by local celebrities and who’s who.
Each edition is placed on the front porch of every home in Whitewater every May & November. It is delivered by the Whitewater FFA, as a fund raising and community support project. Thanks so very much to everyone who supports The Press. You so Rock! We’re anxious to hear from you, our readers. Please take the time to email or write us your impression of our project, send ideas and suggestions. The goal and philosophy of our publications is to tell the stories of each community, especially the businesses, in a contemporary printed piece while reflecting the spirit of the town. The Press Papers are a front porch delivered paper to every household in each community through a partnership with community high school groups; FFA (Future Farmers of America) in Elkhorn and Whitewater, Key Club in Stoughton. The Press papers are also stacked at most businesses for pickup. We publish twice each year, in mid-May and mid-November and have found our shelf life to extend into months.
All advertising includes full color and as a result of our oversized tabloid format, all ad sizes are larger than other print options. No other publication delivers the readership: in numbers, offer response and shelf life. When all other print options are shrinking, The Press is growing, because of our commitment to the good news in each community we serve.

It was a leap of faith to only advertise our Open House in The Elkhorn Press. You did an awesome job with our Biz Profile. We had clients and guests lined up at the door. Best turn out ever. Thanks! - Dee Karbowski, Dee’s Wrap & Roll Salon, Elkhorn ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Having used shared mail and every print media to get coupons into the hands of our customers, I can tell you The Stoughton Press gave us the best success we’ve ever experienced. We had 2000+ coupon redemptions from the Holiday/Winter 2011 edition and had customers using them months after the paper was deliver ed. Our sales were up 15% over the same period in 2010 and I attribute that to the warmer weather and The Press. One of the best marketing investment we’ve ever made! - Rick James, Manager of Culver’s Stoughton
